New Moon Fever Hit ME!

Remember, last time I wrote about my obsession with vampires? Well, now that the second installment of the Twilight Saga has finally come out, I just can’t wait to see it! What with my friend Shemah blogging about it for so long and showing me all these trailers and stuff about Twilight, it feels like I have been waiting forever. I have undeniably caught the New Moon fever.

I just can’t wait to see Taylor Lautner a.k.a. Jacob Black in all his topless glory! LOL Not to mention Rob Pattinson a.k.a. Edward Cullen! Although I am more attracted to Taylor Lautner than Rob Pattinson, I am Team Edward all the way. What can I say, he and Bella are meant to be together, no matter what people say. Edward and Bella are soul mates, and besides, Jacob is mine. LMAO!

Check out this awesome poster of Jacob Black, my Jacob Black. Ahem.

Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black

Not to be upstaged, Edward Cullen also has a topless poster.

Rob Pattinson as Edward Cullen

I don’t know about you, but to me, Taylor Lautner looks so much hotter than Rob Pattinson. I don’t know why, but for some reason, there’s something wrong with Rob’s face when he isn’t Edward, but that’s just me. When I was reading the books, I pictured Edward to be this gorgeous person, almost God-like in appearance and although Rob Pattinson has some angles where he looks gorgeous enough, to me, Edward Cullen should be more gorgeous, but I guess there isn’t an actor around with perfect features like that of Edward.

So anyway, I am going to see New Moon tomorrow! Yay!

Laugh Out Loud

Published by Ane under Celebrities, YouTube Videos Edit This

They say that “Laughter is the best medicine”, which is why I love watching comedy shows, and I love Mad TV and SNL (Saturday Night Live)! These shows make the best spoofs of commercials, music videos and movie trailers.

As we all know, it’s the season of vampires and werewolves, and I myself cannot wait to see the latest installment to the Twilight Saga, which is New Moon. Almost everybody has joined the band wagon and not to be left out, SNL have come up with their own version of the Twilight Saga. It’s hilarious, I love it!

I love Taylor Swift, who knew she can be funny as well? She’s so talented, I love her!

Check it out!

With all the things that I need to deal with right now, like paying off my bills and doing my chores, it feels good to sit down and watch funny videos, it feels so good to laugh. I hope you had a good one!

Quirky World: What a way to die

Okay, so I know this is probably old news, but it’s still a quirky (and sad) way to die. So here’s the story.

Have you heard of the Korean girl group who call themselves The Wonder Girls? Well, they are really famous here in the Philippines, and that is because of their song Nobody , which I have featured for Music Monday on A Network of Entertainment not too long ago. It’s weird how they became a hit girl group here, when their song Nobody came out, it was in Korean and most people only knew the chorus, but still, they became so famous, especially among children. I personally think it’s because of the dance moves. Yes, their song comes with a signature dance move. Or maybe the reason they are so famous here is because the Philippines is being overrun by Koreans. To all Filipinos out there, am I right or am I right?? Just take a look around you, our clothes are even influenced by them now, more than anybody else.

Anyway, the Wonder Girls are so famous, would you believe a man died because he didn’t know the song Nobody and he didn’t know who The Wonder Girls were. What is the world coming to? Don’t believe me? Here is an actual picture of the article on the local newspaper where it tells the story of why the man was killed.

Death by not knowing Nobody

So the headline reads, “Man, killed by 4 men because he didn’t know the song Nobody by the Wonder Girls”. Apparently, Leo Santos aged 28 of Tondo, Manila, Philippines, was beaten and stabbed in the stomach, which caused his death, by 4 other men because he didn’t know the song Nobody by the Wonder Girls and they even left the knife in his body. What a senseless way to die. What is the world coming to? There are certainly a lot of crazies running around in the world.

LESSON: Keep yourself updated when it comes to trends or what is “in”, or risk being murdered by a bunch of crazies. We live in a crazy world, it’s best to keep up.

Music Monday: I’m Afraid of Britney Spears by LiveOnRelease

I have been wanting to feature this music video for quite sometime now, but as you know I had issues with Today and I can’t view ANY Today blogs AT ALL, including my own, which is kind of weird. I’ve written like 6 letters to Today’s support but I have yet to receive an explanation as to why my IP address has been blocked for some reason. So anyway, I am able to view and post today because I am not home, I am over at my sister’s, you can read more about that on diary blog . For now, let’s enjoy this quirky song. Have a happy Music Monday All!

A Filipino Halloween

In the Philippines, Halloween isn’t as grand as it would be in countries like the US. It wasn’t until a few years back that we adapted the tradition of trick or treating and it was only in specific areas in the city like the mall, or specific subdivisions, not like in the US when almost everyone gets into the Halloween celebrations.

Traditionally, we Filipinos use this time, October 31st to November 2nd, to honor our loved ones that have passed away. This is the only time of the year where we go visit our loved ones graves and give them honor. Which is why every year, at this time, the cemetery is literally packed with people. People from all over the Philippines go home to their respective provinces to be able to spend this time with their relatives, and oftentimes, this season serves as a reunion of some sort.

Instead of trick or treating, we go ghost hunting. Baguio City has been known to be one of the cities in the Philippines with the most “haunted” places and that is all because of the 1990 earthquake, which caused a lot of deaths. I am sure that because of the recent landslide caused by typhoon Ketsana and typhoon Parma, the number of places in our city that are said to be haunted have a few additions.

Here are a few pictures of the most famous “haunted” places in our city, the city of Pines, the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City.

Diplomat Hotel

Loakan Road

Laperal white House

I remember when I was little, trick or treating was a kind of taboo for us. However, times have changed, and although we still honor our dead during this time, we have also adapted the concept of trick or treating. Although Halloween is still not celebrated as grand as it is in the US, it’s still a fun time to spend with friends and family.

Happy Halloween Folks!

Quirky Celebrity: Johnny Depp

John Christopher “Johnny” Depp II was born on June 9, 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky but he was raised in Florida. Can you believe this hottie dropped out of school at the age of 15, just so he can be a rock star? Well, he did and he was in a series of garage bands but the one that really made a stand was a band he fronted called The Kids, who later changed their name to Six Gun Method.

Check out this video of him with the band, The Kids.

Johnny Depp has been known for he’s quirky roles in a series of films. He’s been a pirate, a chocolate factory owner, a weirdo with scissors for hands and now, he plays the Mad Hatter in a movie adaptation of the classic story by Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland. Johnny Depp has definitely had the quirkiest roles ever and sometimes it’s hard to imagine him as a normal person, but then again, what is normal? He doesn’t stop there, he also lends his voice in animations such as in Spongebob Squarepants and The Corpse Bride.

Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow Johnny Depp as Willy WonkaJohnny Depp as Edward ScissorhandsJohnny Depp as The Mad Hatter

I love Johnny Depp. When he’s not acting, he seems like the strong, silent type guy with a dark side, and I think that’s just sexy, don’t you?

Check out the trailer for Alice in Wonderland.

Music Monday:Narda (Darna) by Kamikazee

Published by Ane under Celebrities, Music, Music Monday Edit This

Remember I told you about watching a local soap opera about a local super heroine named Darna? Well, if you don’t here’s a chance for you to get to know her better. Darna is a local super heroine created by Filipino comics legend, Mars Ravelo. He is like the Stan Lee of the Philippines. Darna has super strength, can fly and is almost vulnerable. Anyway, read about her more here . Currently, Darna is played by local actress Marian Rivera. A lot of actresses have played Darna before but in my opinion, she is the prettiest and sexiest of them all. Cool

Kamikazee is a local band known for their awesome songs and quirky music videos, I loove them! This song is basically about a man’s admiration for Darna, how he hopes one day she’d notice him, but that is close to impossible because she is beyond his reach but just a glimpse of her would be fine. Laughing

Anyway, for my Music Monday pick, here’s the theme song from the hit soap Darna, called Narda by local band Kamikazee. BTW, Narda is Darna’s alter ego, her human form.Laughing Happy Music Monday All!Laughing

Quirky World: Ultimate Roller

This quite possibly the quirkiest video clip I have ever seen, so far.

WTF?! What is up with the dude on top of another dude? Okay, that seems normal, but what is up with that freaking kid’s face where his penis is supposed to be, and shooting lasers at that. How very queer (by queer I mean strange)!

What is the point of this video anyway? I didn’t get it, if you did, I’d love for you to explain it to me.Laughing

Music Monday: Tubthumping by Chumbawamba

This song was so popular during my high school days. We had a friend named Danny, and every time this song was on, all heads would turn to look at him. LOL.Laughing I never quite got the meaning of the song, until I read the lyrics. And then I realized it’s very repetitive and the meaning isn’t that thought provoking. It simply says he can’t be knocked down. I still love the beat though.Laughing And the music video is pretty quirky.Laughing
